Tips

  • For Bali it is necessary to have vaccination. At this moment in time a vaccination against Hepatitis A is recommended. When you are staying longer than 2 weeks also a vaccination against typhoid fever is required. All vaccinations can also be administered on a homeopathic basis. The homeopathic vaccinations work at least as well and are less strenuous on your body. Contact a doctor who specialises in classical homeopathy and get yourself informed.

  • Buy in Indonesia a prepay card from Telkomsel. This will cost you initially RP 25.000 (about € 2,50). If you run out of credits you can recharge for € 2,-  € 5,- or € 10,-. In this way you know exactly how much you spend for your calls and you will not get an unpleasant surprise after your holiday if your friends and family have called you during your holiday.

  • Have the people staying behind call you on your Indonesian number through a carrier select service. Look in the internet for the best deal.

  • If you want to exchange currency on Bali be sure to have a calculator with you. And look out for (hidden) transactional costs.

  • Make a mailing group in your webmail account. This enables you to send an email with your latest holiday news to all people at home with one press on the button.

  • Compare the prices of tickets to Bali. Some airlines offer great discounts in certain periods. If you travel with children, it is also wise to check the rates since not all airlines give you a discount. Change the city of departure and see if this also offers you another discount.

  • If you have an international driving licence you can rent a car or motorcycle. If you do not have an international driving license, make sure you obtain one before you leave.
