Sustainability and environment
The lessor of Villa Kupu Kupu bears nature both topside and underwater no ill will. That is why when designing and building the villa the environment and local surroundings have been taken into account as much as possible.
The spirituality of the people and the island of Bali has been incorporated in the villa and the design of the garden. The villa and the garden have been designed in line with the customs of Vastu; there is a pura (temple) and a pelinggih (altar) on the land and there are dragons on top of the roof in order to protect the villa and its inhabitants. The construction of the villa has been enthusiastically done by local craftsmen with local materials.
At the villa we utilise and save as much as possible the natural resources. A spring under the land is being used to water the garden, fill the swimming pool and supply the house of water. Apart from that the water of the pool is filtered in a human and nature friendly manner. (This makes the use of chlorine superfluous). Good for eyes and skin, but absolutely good for nature. Water and energy are (especially in a country like Indonesia) rare goods. Many Westerners consider water and energy self—evident. You are free to use whatever you seem fit, but we kindly request that in your usage you take into consideration the environment and surroundings.
A good example is to turn off the air conditioning if you are not in the bedroom. Only use the washing machine if you have a full load and there are many more things you can do to support and maintain this holiday paradise.
